The New England Patriots will have a chance to take sole possession of the AFC's No. 1 seed if they can beat the New York Jets on "Thursday Night Football."
Currently, the Patriots (8-2) are tied atop the conference with the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos. New England is on a league-best seven-game winning streak and has built a game-and-a-half advantage on the Buffalo Bills in the AFC East standings.
The Jets (2-7) are coming off their second win of the season, a 27-20 victory over the Cleveland Browns during which New York's special teams units shined, scoring two touchdowns. That helped the team overcome another lackluster passing performance by Justin Fields, who had just 42 net passing yards in Week 10.
The Jets' Breece Hall-led offense figures to be at a disadvantage in Week 11 against a Patriots defense that ranks 11th league-wide in defensive EPA per play. New England is allowing a league-low 79.2 rushing yards per game and has only allowed one running back to total more than 50 rushing yards in a game this season.
On the other side of the ball, the Patriots finally seem to be getting their running game going, as TreVeyon Henderson is fresh off a breakout performance in the team's 28-23 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The second-round rookie had 55- and 69-yard touchdown runs and showcased how his game-breaking speed could add another layer to New England's already strong offense.
Meanwhile, Drake Maye is performing at an MVP level and has been one of the league's best downfield passers through 10 weeks. The Jets may be hard-pressed to stop the second-year quarterback having parted with two of their best players, defensive lineman Quinnen Williams and cornerback Sauce Gardner, ahead of the NFL trade deadline.
