CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — On Wednesday, Governor-elect Abigail Spanberger urged the University of Virginia’s Board of Visitors to pause the selection of the University’s 10th president until a full Board is appointed and confirmed following her inauguration in January.
In a letter to Rector Sheridan and Vice Rector Wilkinson, Spanberger emphasized the importance of a fully constituted Board in restoring trust and ensuring a transparent and credible presidential search.
“As both a proud alumna and the Governor-elect of the Commonwealth of Virginia, I am deeply concerned by recent developments at the University of Virginia and how these challenges may impact the legitimacy of the current search for the University’s next president,” Spanberger wrote.
