PARADISE, Calif. - The community in Paradise came together for the annual Veterans Day celebration on Tuesday, showing support for those who have served.

However, questions have arisen regarding the federal government's ability to provide its usual support amid the ongoing government shutdown.

The government shutdown has been affecting various services for 42 days. It has delayed paychecks for many federal employees and food assistance for more than 40,000 people in Butte County alone.

At the Veterans Memorial Event in Paradise, Action News Now asked veterans about the impact of the shutdown on their services. Dennis Angelica, a United States Marine Corps veteran, shared his experience.
