PARADISE, Calif. - Veterans Day celebrations took place across the nation, and in Paradise, a gathering was held at the Veterans Memorial Hall on Skyway.

Local Marine, Navy, and Army veterans from across Butte County came together to celebrate their achievements and be recognized for their service.

Many of the veterans Action News Now spoke with said they served in the Vietnam War, Korean War, and conflicts in the Middle East, such as Iraq and Afghanistan.

Speakers shared memories from their time in service, expressing both sad and happy recollections. Many said they joined the armed forces to see the world, provide for their families, and protect their country.
