ANN ARBOR – No. 77 is more than just the number Michigan redshirt freshman left tackle Blake Frazier wears on the back of his jersey.

It’s an expectation he looks to hold himself to every day. From Art Walker in the 1950s to more recently Jon Jansen (1994-98), Jake Long (2003-07), Taylor Lewan (2009-13) and Trevor Keegan (2019-23), the number has been worn by several of the best offensive linemen in program history.

Even his current offensive line coach, Grant Newsome, and his father, Steve Frazier, who was teammates with Jansen, wore No. 77.
