Bhubaneswar: The Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) will soon launch a comprehensive state-wide survey to identify children with disabilities aged between 0 and 6 years across Odisha.
The initiative seeks to ensure early identification, intervention, and inclusion of such children in various welfare schemes, healthcare programmes, and educational frameworks.
According to official guidelines issued by the department, Anganwadi workers will conduct door-to-door data collection throughout the state. To recognize their contribution, each worker participating in the survey will receive an incentive of ₹500.
The exercise is aligned with the provisions of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD)
