There will be some Christmas cheer in communities across Wishaw this year after it was confirmed two areas would have a living Christmas trees. ‌

Members of both Coltness and Cleland Community Councils stated they will both have trees this festive season thanks to a deal with North Lanarkshire Council. ‌

In a statement on the group’s Facebook page, Coltness Community Council said: “Over the past few years, North Lanarkshire Council (NLC) increased the costs to community councils for their share of the annual Christmas tree. ‌

“Because of this, Coltness Community Council chose instead to host free festive events for the community — making sure everyone could still enjoy some Christmas cheer together.
