A "danger to life" amber weather warning has been issued for parts of the UK on Friday, with up to 80mm of rain expected.

Flooding is likely during heavy downpours brought by Storm Claudia, the Met Office said. The warning is in place from noon until the end of the day and covers parts of Wales, the Midlands, South West, South East and East of England.

The Met Office said the weather may lead to power cuts, travel disruption and damage to buildings. Those travelling are urged to be cautious. 12:07 Tim Hanlon
