Al-Falah University in Faridabad is under investigation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) for allegedly providing incorrect information about its accreditation status. This scrutiny comes in the wake of the university's connection to the recent blast near Delhi's Red Fort, which has raised serious concerns about its staff members.

The NAAC issued a show-cause notice to the university, demanding an explanation for why it should not face legal action for misleading the public. The notice highlights that the university's website falsely claims that two of its colleges, the Al-Falah School of Engineering and Technology and the Department of Teacher Education, hold valid NAAC accreditation. However, both accreditations expired years ago, with the engineering college's status ending in 2018 and the teacher education department's in 2016.

NAAC's notice, dated November 12, states, "Both of the above Colleges have not yet volunteered for the Cycle-2 Assessment and Accreditation (A&A) process of NAAC." The council has given the university seven days to respond and has asked why it should not be disqualified from future assessments or have its recognition by the University Grants Commission (UGC) revoked.

The university has been in the spotlight since it was revealed that three of its medical staff members are linked to the blast incident. Dr. Umar Un Nabi, who was driving the car that exploded, and Dr. Muzammil Shakil, who was arrested for stockpiling explosives, both worked at Al-Falah Medical College. The university has distanced itself from these individuals, stating it has no connection with them beyond their professional roles.

In addition to the NAAC notice, a suspicious vehicle was discovered on the university campus, prompting further investigations by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and local police. The university's Vice Chancellor expressed deep concern over the situation, stating, "Our thoughts and prayers are with all the innocent people affected by these distressing events."

As the investigation continues, Al-Falah University faces significant challenges regarding its accreditation status and reputation in the educational sector.
