EAST LIVERPOOL - An East Liverpool man facing multiple rape charges is set to plead in his case.

According to court records, 20-year-old Brett Thompson, who is charged with four counts of rape, is set for a plea hearing on December 1.

Court records show Thompson was originally scheduled to go on trial on November 17, but that trial was canceled and the plea hearing was set following a status conference Thursday morning.

Thompson was secretly indicted by a grand jury in January of 2025. According to the indictment, Thompson's alleged crimes occurred in October of 2023.

Each count represents a different sexual act that Thompson allegedly performed on the victim or allegedly forcibly compelled the victim to perform on him.
