A retired educator will fill the seat of a veteran Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board trustee who died this fall.
Wayne Greco will be sworn in when trustees hold their next meeting on Dec. 10.

He ran to become a trustee in 2022, finishing seventh in a field of eight candidates. The top six were elected.
Trustees considered several options for finding Gary Trembinski’s successor, including holding a byelection or appointing a community member.
The consensus was the best choice was to select Greco because of the earlier support shown by Sault Ste. Marie voters. He finished 90 votes behind Tony D’Agostino.
“ To me that makes the most sense because the community had a say in who that person would be, not just our board,” said John Caputo.
