Tura: Thousands of faithful took part in a large eucharistic celebration and procession in Tura, where Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma walked alongside people in a display of faith and solidarity.
The annual event, organised by the Diocese of Tura, brought together nearly five thousand participants. The holy eucharist was led by Bishop Andrew R Marak along with Auxiliary Bishop Jose Chirackal and several priests of the diocese. The gathering reflected the strong Catholic presence in the Garo Hills and the deep devotion of the local community.
Chief Minister Sangma attended the Mass from the beginning and later joined the long procession through the streets. Witnesses said he walked with the crowd without any security detail, which many saw as a gesture of humility and respect for
