Shillong, Nov 13: Meghalaya soundly defeated Arunachal Pradesh by eight wickets in their third one day match of the U-23 men’s State A Trophy 2025-26 plate group in Ropar, Punjab, today.
Arunachal won the toss and batted first but could only make 79/10 as Gavineal Marpna ripped through the line-up with his left-arm spin. Meghalaya then chased down the small target in just 21.1 overs for the loss of two wickets.
Only two Arunachal batters got into double figures, with captain Leki Tsering the top scorer having made 25 before being bowled by Gavi, who also removed the second highest run getter, Amarjeet Sharma (15). Manish Sharma (2/19) and PM Santhosh (2/26) were Meghalaya’s other wicket-takers.
