Today is World Kindness Day (13 Nov) and while it’s easy to write off these national days as marketing fodder (as they often are, to be fair), this one is a little different – and very meaningful.
According to UNESCO : “World Kindness Day was established in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement with the purpose of promoting kindness around the world.”
The day is all about giving people the chance to reflect on “one of the most important and unifying human principles - empathy , compassion and kindness”.
It’s also about encouraging acts of kindness, big and small.
During a time of polarisation and desperately sad news cycles , remembering to be kind and finding ways to be kinder to one another should be top priority.
