Organisers of the Jewellery Quarter Christmas Light Switch On event have been forced to pull the plug due to Storm Claudia.
The extravaganza, which was months in the planning, was due to take place on Friday evening in front of excited crowds.
The Jewellery Quarter BID sadly announced on Thursday afternoon (Nov 13) they had to cancel due to safety concerns.

The Met Office has issued an Amber 'danger to life' warning with heavy and persistent rain expected to lash down on Friday in the West Midlands.
Between 40-60 mm of rain is predicted with some places seeing around 80 mm.
