About two months ago McCordsville sued the popular winery Daniel's Vineyard, saying the site had violated local zoning laws. Now the Hancock County winery has filed a counterclaim alleging unfair treatment.

In the suit filed Nov. 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana , Daniel’s Vineyard near Geist Reservoir alleges the town of McCordsville implemented policies that unfairly targeted its business. The legal action comes after McCordsville filed a lawsuit of its own against Daniel’s Vineyard : a Sept. 29 complaint filed in the Hancock County Circuit Court that says the owners breached a development agreement and violated local zoning law.
