Talks continue between the Crown and defense counsel representing Sault Ste. Marie MPP Chris Scott.

He faces charges of assault and assault causing bodily harm. Scott was not present when his matter when his matter was heard in Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday

An articling student representing defense counsel Michael Lacy told court a “very productive” pre-trial was held with the Crown and discussions are ongoing.

Scott’s matter returns to court Dec. 24 at 9:30 a.m.

Meanwhile, a date for the decision in the first-degree murder trial of Montana Lewis is still to be set. His matter, heard Wednesday in the Superior Court of Justice, was adjourned to Dec. 17 . Lewis was charged in the November 2020 slaying of Sam Graham.
