When Grade 9 student Neko Shortt-Clarke stepped into CochraneTel on Nov. 5 she wasn’t just tagging along with her dad — she was getting a firsthand look at how the town stays connected.
As part of Take Our Kids to Work Day, Shortt-Clarke spent the day shadowing her father, Chris Clarke, a technician with CochraneTel.

She tested landlines, interacted with customers and learned how fibre optic technology delivers phone, data and television services to homes and businesses across the community.
Shortt-Clarke also participated in a safety orientation before heading into the field, learning the importance of maintaining a safe and responsible workplace.
