COLUMBUS, Ohio -Discussions between Cleveland State University and Ideastream over the transfer of the student radio station began over six months before the deal was inked, newly released records show.
CSU President Laura Bloomberg and Ideastream Public Media President and CEO Kevin Martin signed a two-page confidentiality and nondisclosure agreement that went into effect March 17.
On Oct. 3, WCSB 89.3 FM, which for nearly 50 years had been run by students and community volunteers, became JazzNEO, run by Ideastream. Students were unaware of the deal until the transfer occurred. Since then, CSU and Ideastream have come under fire for the move.
CSU’s legal department provided cleveland.com|The Plain Dealer with a copy of the NDA in response to a public records request. Cleveland.com
