New Delhi: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Thursday dismissed the Congress party’s allegation that it had hired an American lobbying firm with past links to Pakistan, calling the claim “completely false and misleading”.

Responding to Congress leader Jairam Ramesh’s charge that the Sangh engaged US-based Squire Patton Boggs (SPB) as a lobbying representative, RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar said the organisation operates only within India and has no association with any foreign lobbying entity.

“The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh works in Bharat and has not engaged any lobbying firm in the United States of America,” Ambekar said in a statement posted on X.
