Life at a shelter is always a mixture of comfort and sadness. Staff strive to fill each day with attention, toys, and care, yet many dogs continue to long for a true home.

For some, adoption comes quickly; for others, the wait is long. Then there are dogs like Andy, who briefly tasted happiness before it was taken away again.

A Difficult Beginning For Andy

Andy’s journey began far from Connecticut. He was originally surrendered to a Georgia shelter following a severe accident that left him injured . The young pup had become entangled in a tie-out meant to keep him confined to a yard, causing significant damage.

Eventually, Andy was transferred to Little Guild, a limited-admission shelter in West Cornwall, Connecticut, where staff began the work of restoring both his body and spirit.
