A man whose friend collapsed from a fatal brain injury after two assaults less than 48 hours apart told the 999 operator he had twice been given “a hiding”, a court has heard.
Mark Crane called an ambulance at Josh Ingram's request as he began to bleed “like a water pistol” from his mouth on April 1 last year.
Earlier that day, the 33-year-old, described as fragile and vulnerable due to pre-existing poor health, had been punched by a dog walker as he and Mr Crane sat in a car park off Magpie Hall Road, Chatham.
Jurors at Maidstone Crown Court were told that the blow caused a subdural haematoma which had been sustained in a separate incident on March 30 last year to "re-bleed" and left Mr Ingram with an "unsurviveable" injury.
