The creator of Drone Shark App captured rare video footage of hundreds of sharks feeding on a huge baitball of sardines off the east coast of Australia.

Jason Iggleden of Sydney created the app as a means of warning surfers of the presence of sharks in the area, but what he saw on the eastern shore of Moreton Island near Brisbane took him aback.

“This is epic,” Iggleden says in the video. “I’ve never got footage like this. This is unbelievable. This is my dream. Look at it with all the sardines down there. Unbelievable.

“This is a dream. Look at this…This doesn’t happen very often, so I am so stoked. Wow.”

Wow, indeed!

“What a spectacle on the east coast of Moreton Island,” Iggleden wrote on his YouTube post. “There must be 500 sharks in the space of 1 km as the sardines swam across the coastline. I’ve never experienced anything like this and it was an amazing event, so blessed.”

At one point, you see a surfer in the water. Iggleden assured that he had been warned about the sharks but for some reason remained in the water for time.

“Here comes another crew into the mix,” Iggleden says in the video as a school of more sharks arrive on the scene. “Just insanity. Crazy scenes here.”
