A semitractor-trailer loaded with cheese crashed on Interstate 15 near Kanarraville in Iron County on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

The incident happened shortly after 3:30 p.m. near mile marker 46, just north of the Kanarraville rest area.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Mike Alexander said the truck was northbound when the driver lost control and went into the median.

“It’s unknown right now why he veered off the road,” Alexander said, adding that no other vehicles were involved and nobody was injured.

The truck tipped over and flipped around during the crash, with much of its cargo spilling from the ripped-open trailer.

“It ended up in the median, so traffic wasn’t affected,” Alexander added.
