The Boston Red Sox are in a good spot heading into the offseason. After sneaking into the playoffs last season, the Sox are armed with loads of money and assets that are expected to be used to increase the level of talent on their major-league roster.
There are several areas of need that Boston is expected to look to address over the next few months. Finding a de facto No. 2 starter to work behind Garrett Crochet appears to be on that list, and so is adding a corner infielder, especially if Alex Bregman ends up bolting after opting out of his contract to test the waters of free agency.
