Monroe, the highest state-ranked team in Section V football, returns to action this week.
The No. 1 state-ranked Red Jackets are in the Section V Class B final, 3 p.m. Nov. 15 at Rush-Henrietta, where the team from the Rochester City School District takes on Honeoye Falls-Lima.
Monroe was on the sidelines for the first two weeks of Section V football playoffs because Class B ended up a three-team tournament. A bye for the quarterfinal round of sectionals turned into a spot in the championship. The Red Jackets last played a game Oct. 25, the last day of the Section V football regular season.
