SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - A Northwest Iowa man accused of receiving child pornography over the course of years has pleaded guilty to his charges.
According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa, 39-year-old Anthony Girad of Sioux City pleaded guilty on Wednesday, Nov. 12, in federal court to receiving child pornography.
At the plea hearing, federal authorities say Girard admitted that from September 2023 through January 13, 2025, he received and possessed child pornography.
Girard admitted he used proactive file-sharing services to exchange over 13,000 files of investigative interest over the course of two years. Authorities say during the investigation, agents from around Iowa were able to connect Girard’s IP to thousands of files of child porno
