All charges against fish processing company Quinlan, related to the alleged processing and transportation of dead snow crab, have been dismissed.
The company issued a release today saying they welcome the dismissal, which came about after the Crown decided to call no evidence in the case.
A review by the Crown determined there was no reasonable prospect of conviction on any of the charges which the company says were rooted in “flawed testing, unproven and untested technology and improper inspection authority” which were “not consistent with the requirements of the law.” .
The charges were laid after inspection by provincial fisheries officials on May 30th and June 29th of 2024.
Quinlan says allegations were wrong and caused ‘reputational harm.’
