Cyclists say they've been left shocked and concerned for their safety after a highway bike lane was narrowed.
A section of the bike lane on the Bass Highway, heading east between Burnie and Heybridge, was narrowed after a safety barrier was replaced and work on the bridge was completed in October.
Safer Roads for Cyclists chair Alison Horch said she was "completely astonished" to see the new width of the bike lane.
"We are pretty shocked that this has happened," she said.
"I used to ride it [along the highway], but I wouldn't be game to now."
The shared Coastal Pathway has not been completed between Wivenhoe and Heybridge, forcing cyclists and runners into the bike lane.
