Zayna Jackson has devoted a large portion of her life to hockey.

And, after a year or two out of Tasmania's hockey system, the 21-year-old can say she's a professional in the sport.

Jackson, who hails from Burnie, made her Tassie Tigers debut on Saturday, November 8, during round five of the Hockey One season.

"It was definitely exciting and a bit nerve-racking playing at the highest level coming off a broken finger," Jackson said of her debut.

"[I thought] it was likely [that I'd make my debut], but you never know until you see your name on the teamsheet.

"I had eight weeks of doing no competitive training. But after the first quarter, [the nerves settled] and the girls got around me, and I was fine after that."
