SAGINAW, MI — A Saginaw teen has spent nearly a quarter of his life in custody awaiting trial on a charge of strangling his 10-year-old stepsister to death when he was just 14. He must wait even longer, as he’s to undergo yet another psychological evaluation.
A shackled Jameion L. Peterson entered the courtroom of Saginaw County Circuit Judge Darnell Jackson on the morning of Thursday, Nov. 13, for a hearing to assess his competency. He waved to and expressed his love to two women seated in the otherwise empty gallery.
