Maine (WABI) - November is National Family Caregivers Month , a time to call attention to the selfless Americans who provide care and support to family and friends in need.
New data highlights caregiving prevalence in Maine.
“Maine is the oldest state in the nation, and if 30% of people are providing care, that really speaks a lot about what’s going on with caregivers in our state,” said Noel Bona, AARP Maine State Director.
Newly released AARP Caregiving data finds that 28% of Maine adults, about 324,000 people, are caregivers, providing largely unpaid care to loved ones, which can take a toll on caregivers mentally, emotionally, and financially.
