NILES - A Warren man has been indicted in connection with a hit-skip crash that claimed the life of a retired Newton Falls teacher.
According to a Trumbull County grand jury report, 63-year-old Wayne Keeley was indicted on felony charges of aggravated vehicular homicide and failure to stop after an accident, as well as a misdemeanor charge of vehicular manslaughter.
The charges stem from a crash that occurred near Fifth Street and Indiana Avenue in Niles and claimed the life of 67-year-old Brenda Hibbard, a retired Newton Falls teacher.
Police say Keeley drove through the backyard of an Indiana Avenue home, crashing into vehicles parked in the driveway, as well as Hibbard, who was knocked out of her shoes from the impact.
Hibbard died of her injuries in the hospital.
