Weapon fired in Sault unit

No one was hurt when a weapon was fired into a unit at a residential building in the 800 block of Wellington Street East on Tuesday morning.

A bullet from the weapon was shot through the floor into a neighbouring unit that was occupied, police say.

Nathan Haefele-McLea, 35, was charged with careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of weapon, possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, reckless discharge of firearm, life or safety, unauthorized possession of firearm, unauthorized possession of weapon and six counts possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order.
