CHARLOTTE, NC – Border patrol personnel could arrive in Charlotte as early as Saturday, says Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden.
According to the sheriff’s office, two separate federal officials reached out to McFadden on Wednesday, Nov. 12th and confirmed that U.S. Customs and
Border Protection (CBP) personnel will be arriving in the Charlotte area as early as this Saturday or the beginning of next week.
The sheriff’s office says it has not been asked to help or participate in any enforcement actions and has not received any specific details.
“We value and welcome the renewed collaboration and open communication with our federal partners” Sheriff McFadden said. “It allows us to stay informed and be proactive in keeping Mecklenburg County safe and to maintain the level of trust
