Two intersection improvements close to the city’s busiest intersection will be added to the 2026 capital budget.

Council passed a resolution at its last meeting, requesting that improvements be made to the Great Northern Road and Northern Avenue East intersection and the Northern Avenue East Peewee/Metro intersection in next year’s budget.

Ward 2 Coun. Lisa Vezeau-Allen penned the resolution, noting that the intersections and the surrounding area have the highest concentration of residents with disabilities, mainly due to large numbers of accessible residential units in the area.
