Prime Minister Mark Carney announced Thursday that the Ksi Lisims LNG facility and the North Coast power transmission line have been added to the federal government’s major projects list, allowing them to be considered for fast-tracking through the approvals process by Ottawa’s Major Projects Office.
The two developments have been touted by Premier David Eby as part of the province’s efforts to make B.C. the “economic engine” of Canada, alongside LNG Canada and a dozen critical mineral mines. They join LNG Canada Phase 2 and the Red Chris Mine expansion on Carney’s list of major projects in B.C..
