Kate Middleton penned a moving note of remembrance to fallen members of the armed forces, paying tribute to those brave men and women who ‘made the ultimate sacrifice’.
To mark Armistice Day on Tuesday, the Princess of Wales made a solo appearance at the Service of Remembrance on the Armed Forces Memorial at The National Memorial Arboretum, in Staffordshire, where she laid a wreath and led the two-minute silence.
The picture of sombre elegance, Kate Middleton donned a Catherine Walker dress and Jane Taylor hat, which she accessorised with a pair of rarely-seen ruby earrings . The Princess lowered her head as she approached the memorial with her wreath, which bore flowers arranged in the shape of the white ostrich feathers of the Prince of Wales 's heraldic badge.
