An alpine ski racer who specializes in slalom events is beginning her climb to a second appearance at the Winter Olympics.

Paula Moltzan, a Minnesota native who now lives in Vermont, launched into her race season with a second-place finish in giant slalom at the Audi FIS Ski World Cup opener in Austria in October. That was her best-yet World Cup performance in giant slalom, according to the U.S. Ski & Snowboar
