An Ontario police investigation resulted in ALERT's Internet Child Exploitation Unit making an arrest

A 44-year-old Calgary man was arrested by the Guelph Police Service on child pornography and luring charges.

A Guelph police officer posed as a 13-year-old girl and began an online chat with an adult male. The male then sent photos of himself and spoke of wanting to meet an underage girl for sex.

The investigation found the male was located in Calgary, after which the file was forwarded to the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team’s (ALERT) Internet Child Exploitation Unit.
