COLUMBUS — The Ohio General Assembly is on track to pass several property tax reform bills before breaking for the Thanksgiving holiday, according to key state lawmakers involved in the process.
State Sen. Sandra O’Brien (R., Rome), chairman of the Senate Local Government Committee, said members of the Senate and House are working to pass the four significant property tax bills pending in her committee as soon as possible.
“I can’t make any promises. I just know this has been really on the front burner, and for obvious reasons. The public has about had it,” Ms. O’Brien said. “I believe leadership in both chambers want this done by, maybe, the holiday. It doesn’t mean it’s going to be, but it’s for obvious reasons — tax bills and all that.”
Ms. O’Brien said she is in regular contact wit
