Senate Pro Tem Mike McGuire will run for Congress to represent District 1, after California voters approved newly drawn maps that will give Democrats an advantage in the next three elections.

McGuire released a campaign video on Thursday that said he plans to focus on affordability issues, modernizing schools, keeping rural health centers and hospitals open and countering President Donald Trump’s policies.
