GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Gun violence continues to impact neighborhoods across Grand Rapids, with multiple shootings reported in just the last few days.
Now, community leaders and youth advocates are speaking out, calling for more action and resources to stop the cycle of violence. Leaders told 13 On Your Side that the recent shootings should be a wake-up call to unite and address the root cause of the violence.
“We step up as organizations and put our feet on the ground and come together, then we can really make a move,” said William McFadden, CEO of nonprofit Save A Life A Day Outreach .
