GERMANIA, Wis. (WBAY) - One person was taken into custody after a shooting in Shawano County on Wednesday night left one dead.

Just after 9 p.m. on Wednesday, the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to County Road M, west of Tigerton, in the town of Germania, after a caller told them that a man had shot his friend.

The caller told authorities that he had barricaded himself inside a nearby building and that he would defend himself if the suspect came after him. While on the phone, the suspect tried to get into the building where the caller was inside, and the caller fired a shot at the suspect.

Deputies arrived on the scene and located the suspect outside the building. After initially not following deputy orders, he was eventually taken into custody without further incident.
