Another affordable housing unit will begin construction in Harrisburg this month.

On Nov. 18, the Latino Connection Foundation will host a groundbreaking ceremony for Woodward Lofts, a mixed-use, affordable-housing building in Harrisburg.

The $15.2 million development will take over the former Woodward Elementary , located at 1001 N. Eighth St., Harrisburg. The elementary school was built in 1911 and was demolished in 2016 .

The ceremony will feature remarks from the founder of the Latino Connection, George Fernandez; Harrisburg Mayor Wanda Williams; Sen. Patty Kim; Dauphin County Commissioner Mike Pries; and other state and county representatives.

Fernandez is also responsible for the Harrisburg-based affordable housing unit Sycamore Homes , which was unveiled in April.
