BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A Louisiana lawmaker is promising legislation to address deepfake pornographic images of minors and adults after a WAFB I-TEAM report about a 13-year-old who was bullied at school because a fake image was created of her. The lawmaker says the pending legislation will also address the adults who fail to act after learning that the fake images have been created and are circulating.
Louisiana State Senator Regina Barrow sits on a legislative task force on child abuse investigations. She told the WAFB I-TEAM about her plans to tighten state law as a result of the case involving a Lafourche Parish student who was expelled after hitting another child on a school bus.
The expelled student’s father and lawyers said the girl threw punches after facing relentless ridicule
