Radio host Kyle Sandilands is off the hook after an investigation about whether comments he made on air about mushroom killer Erin Patterson prejudiced her trial.
KIIS FM, which holds the broadcast license for The Kyle and Jackie O Show, was investigated by the Department of Public Prosecutions for potentially publishing prejudicial material that could have affected proceedings during Patterson’s trial.
Sandilands said on air “lock that bitch up” during a segment on his show with Jackie Henderson.
The maximum penalty for contempt in Victoria is 10 years in prison.
Two other incidents involving a Mamamia Out Loud podcast titled “Grab a Plate. The Twist in the Mushroom Trial” and a presentation by Dr Rachel Toles “The Psychology of Serial Killers” were also investigated by the DPP.
