Armed police called and helicopter deployed after robbery reports

Armed police were called and a helicopter deployed to Salford amid reports of an incident at a row of shops on Thursday evening (November 13).

Emergency services attended the scene at the Little Hulton District Centre near Longshaw Drive following reports of an armed robbery at a nearby shop.

It's understood there were reports of a gun being used in the incident. Videos posted on social media also showed a police helicopter circling the area amid the incident.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed: "We have responded to reports of a robbery just after 5pm and have deployed armed officers to the area."
