WASHINGTON — More than 126,000 Toyota and Lexus vehicles are under recall because the engines may stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration issued a recall notice on Nov. 6 for certain 2022, 2023, and 2024 Toyota Tundra, Lexus LX, and 2024 Lexus GX vehicles. According to the recall notice, debris from the manufacturing process may contaminate the V35A engines in those vehicles, leading to main bearing failure, engine stall and loss of power.
The safety regulator said a remedy for the issue is currently under development. Once the repairs are available, those with the affected vehicles can get their cars fixed free of charge.
