Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s establishment of two new Pentagon policies — one pertaining to how it deals with the media and the other on how it deals with Congress — should be deeply concerning to every American. The policies are absurd and defy every democratic principle.
The new press policy mandates that every credentialed journalist covering the Pentagon must now sign a document that says they will not publish or solicit information that has not been authorized for release by a designated official, even if it is unclassified.
